Hesed House - Faith Lutheran Church of Aurora IL

Hesed, (hehs’-ed), Hebrew noun. God’s unconditional and everlasting love that seeks justice on behalf of the least of God’s people.

“What does Yahweh ask of you but to do hesed, to love justice and to walk humbly with our God...” Micah 6:8

The members of Faith have been doing “hesed” for over a decade. We serve the First Tuesday of each month. You may help in one or both of the following ways:

Volunteer Your Time

We are committed to provide 1 – 3 volunteers for each 2 hour shift, starting at 7:00 PM through 7:00 AM the following morning. The types of service we perform are listed by each shift on the sign-up sheet on the “Opportunities to Serve” table. Please consider serving one or more of these shifts. You may also consider making your commitment for all or part of the entire year.

Food & Monetary Donations

We provide as many as 150 lunches each time we serve, which is not in the church budget. Visit the donation board in the fellowship hall for items that are needed. If you would like to make a monitary donation please make your tax deductible contributions payable to Faith, clearly marked for Hesed House, and place your donations in the offering plate.
